Dennis Allman, as he battles a chronic heart condition and undergoes tests for potential heart transplant.

Freedom Celebration Service

Sunday, July 5, at 10:00 a.m. (One Service Only)

 

Please note there will be only one service on Sunday, July 4, at 10:00 a.m. There will be no ABFs or 180 Youth programs, but we will have nurseries open and Preschool & Sunday School classes up to grade 5. We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper that day as well as baptisms. There will be Amish “long johns” (creme sticks) and fellowship on the front lawn after the service.

 


 

Baptism Service - Sunday, July 5th

 

If you are interested in being baptized during the service, please call the church office at (330) 494-3419 and speak with one of the following for information and to sign up:


- Adults: Pastor Mike McCartney, ext. 307
- Middle School: Pastor Scott Calhoun, ext. 315
- Sr. High: Pastor Clinton Lowin, ext. 313
- Children (age 7 and up): Kelly Hansen, Crosstown Director, ext. 320. Note: if your child has not completed the mandatory baptism classes beforehand, he/she may not be baptized on Sunday.
 


 

Benevolence Offering - Sunday, July 5th


A special envelope will be enclosed in the bulletin next Sunday, July 5, to receive donations to The Chapel’s Benevolence Fund. These gifts are used to help members of our church family in times of financial need. Please remember that donations to this fund should be above your regular tithes and offerings. (Benevolence donations may be dropped into an offering box any day of the year, but please write “benevolence fund” on the check notation or use the special benevolence envelope.)

 


 

Attention Chapel Members -
Board Nominations Starting Soon


At this time each year we begin the process of selecting eligible Chapel members to serve on the boards of Trustees, Deacons and Missions, and also fill positions vacated on the Election Committee. If you’re a member of The Chapel in North Canton, you may participate in this process and nominate those you believe would best serve the Lord and His church in each area of responsibility. Packets of information with nomination forms will be available at the Welcome Center beginning Sunday, July 5, 2009.

 


 

Visiting Angels Hiring Caregivers


Visiting Angels is a non-medical homecare service which allows people to maintain their quality of life and independence of daily routines in familiar surroundings, without leaving their cherished homes. They are currently hiring live-in caregivers (24 hour shifts) to assist clients in the Stark County area. Duties include meal preparation, light housekeeping, running errands, medication reminder, personal hygiene and joyful companionship. Previous private duty care or facility care experience is preferred, but they will consider the right individual. Reliable and responsible adults with a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and their own vehicle are encouraged to apply. Call (330) 497-5995 for more information. Business hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

If you would like to advertise (or update) your business, product or service in The Chapel Yellow Page Directory, please submit a business card, information and/or graphics to The Chapel office, or e-mail information and graphics to amber@thechapel-nc.org. Absolute deadline for all submissions is Sunday, July 19, 2009. All current listings will remain unchanged unless we hear from you, and you must be a member or regular attender of The Chapel in North Canton in order to participate.

 


 

Emergency Response Team


Needed: To be a volunteer on this team, you will need to be on call on a rotational basis with other team members and trained in emergency first aid, CPR and/or AED (Automated External Defibrillator). If you are looking for a way to serve the Lord and utilize your emergency medical training, please contact Pastor Dan at (330) 494-3419, ext. 307. We need your help!!

 


 

Electronic Tithing Option


Inquiries have been made about whether or not offerings can be automatically debited from individual checking or savings accounts, and the answer is “Yes!” Authorization forms are available in the church office to set up the automatic debit of your tithe to the church, and you get to determine the amount and frequency of the debit (weekly, semi-monthly or monthly) according to your preferences. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact the church office at (330) 494-3419.

 


 

Sunday Worship Services on CD & DVD

 

Copies of Sunday morning worship services are available on audio CD and DVD video formats. You may order them using the request forms on the Media Center table (near the Welcome Center) in the main lobby of the church. Cost per DVD is $3.00; Audio CDs are $1.00 each. We ask that you submit your payment with your order, if possible, and use the drop box on the Media Center table. Please allow us at least one week to fill your order.

 

NEW!     CD/DVD Catalog Now Available Online!

 

The catalog of available Sunday worship CD/DVD recordings found at the church lobby Media Center is now available online. These catalogs are in Microsoft Excel format and cover the period from January, 2005 to the present. Click here to access the online recording catalog.

 


 

Chapel Library

 

Our Chapel Library has an impressive selection of books, videos, DVDs and music CDs for all ages, by popular authors and artists. The Library is open on Sunday mornings and staffed with volunteers to help you. It’s located in the Main Lobby between ABF Classrooms 2 & 3. A handy book return box is placed just outside the Library door so you can return your books or tapes at any time. Come check it out! (Please check and see if you have any overdue Library items on your bookshelves at home that can be returned, or stop by the Library if you require an extension of time. Thank you!).

The Chapel’s Care Ministry vs. Medical Privacy Policies


Due to stricter privacy policies, hospitals and medical facilities are no longer contacting The Chapel to notify us when a Chapel member or attender has been admitted. So, in order to better minister to your needs during this time, please call the church office at (330) 494-3419 so we may pray with you and coordinate the details regarding your hospital admission and discharge. If it is an emergency, please have a friend or family member contact us. We really care and want to help.
