“2nd Half of Marriage” Class

This class will be taught by Pastor Bennett on Sunday mornings, July 27 & August 3, at 10:30 a.m. in ABF #3. If you are “empty-nesters” or living in the “second half” of your marriage, come to this class and learn how you can strengthen your marriage and live fulfilling lives that can be greatly used by God.

Kids Summer Camp (VBS)
July 13 - 17, 2008
Sunday - Thursday, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. for children age 4 - 5th Grade

Give your children a new enthusiasm for God’s Word -- and for Jesus! As you engage kids with fun, science-themed surprises, you’ll see amazing things happen. The delighted smiles...the memorable Bible points…they all add up to making a life-long difference in the lives of your children!” (www.groupvbs.com)

This year’s VBS is not only full of fun and creativity, but it is powerful as well. Kids will learn life lessons from the Bible -- specifically, how God gives us the power to:

1. Be Thankful (Colossians 3:15)
2. Help Others (Romans 12:19)
3. Be Brave (Psalm 23:4)
4. Live Forever (John 14-17)
5. Tell Others about God (Acts 2:1-47)

Come and be a part of something fun while impacting these young lives for Jesus Christ! Sign up today at the display in the lobby -- volunteers are needed to help with small groups, story telling, crafts and snacks.

VBS is intentionally fun and interactive, but we’d like to see it used as an outreach opportunity, so be praying for someone to bring with you to camp! Registration begins Sunday, June 15..

New Deacon Care Group Ministry

With the continued increase in membership and the Deacon Board’s desire to effectively support the Care Group Ministry and those with specific and special needs, the Deacon Caring Program will be revised for 2008. Each month there will be six "Deacons of the Month" that will work closely with the pastors in praying for and meeting the needs of Chapel members.

Deacons of the Month for July are: Lance Bezek, Randy Burrier, Bill Deem, Jim Fedorka, Bill Habyan and Jeff Ives. Please contact any of these deacons with your prayer requests, praises or special needs. Their phone numbers may be found in the Chapel telephone directory or you may call the church office at (330) 494-3419 and request their phone numbers. It helps our care ministry if you let us know in advance if you are scheduled for surgery. If you are taken ill suddenly or hospitalized, please have a family member or friend contact the church office.

New Couples Mentoring Ministry

A new Chapel ministry is available for married and engaged couples, and it’s known as “Couple Mentoring”. This ministry is for you if:

  • You are a couple interested in being mentored by another couple who has gone through similar circumstances in life and can help guide and pray for you as you work through your situation, or,

  • If you are engaged or newly married and would like to spend some time with a mature, Christian couple who can “show you the ropes” and help equip you to travel the road of life with your new spouse.

Couple mentoring would involve one or two meetings per month with your mentoring couple to go over Biblical and practical principles that relate to your relational needs. Take advantage of the spiritual blessings and growth that takes place with Couple Mentoring. Contact Pastor Mike McCartney at the church at (330) 494-3419, ext. 306.
