Dear
Chapel Members and Friends,
The
holidays are here again! It's such a special time of year to recognize
all that Jesus did in being committed to us. He left heaven's glory to
be born as a man, to teach and to give his life for us on the cross.
He paid for our sins and rose again giving each of us new life and the
sure hope of heaven. He has given each of us a spiritual gift to be
used for His glory. With all the commitment He has shown, perhaps we
should reevaluate our commitment and service to Him.
Here
at The Chapel we have 270 members. If every one of us would pitch in
and show our commitment to Christ by serving Him even in one area, we
would have all volunteer positions filled including everything from
nursery workers and children's teachers to greeters, ushers, choir
members, youth sponsors, ABF and small group leaders! We should even
have enough people to plan socials including picnics and the
Thanksgiving Dinner. Some of these positions involve a once-a-week
commitment, others only once a month or once a year. If every one of
us would wear at least one "hat", it would keep some of the
faithful from burning out and and would give us such unity in our
church, that I think we would be amazed at the great things God would
do here at The Chapel. Are you using your gift to serve Christ here?
Just having your name on a schedule or list won't show the commitment
we all need to show; we actually need to plan, prepare, show up and do
it.
So,
as you reflect on God's great gift of Jesus this Christmas, Please
consider how much you can use your spiritual gift to serve Him and
each other here at The Chapel. Our church will be blessed by having
everyone pitching in and serving together in the love of Christ.
Merry
CHRISTmas,
Craig
Anderson
