From the July, 2000 edition of The Doulos monthly newsletter

by Fred Merritt

On April 27, Pastor Bennett led a group of five people from The Chapel in North Canton, including myself, to Russia for the dedication of the Yaroslavl church building. This trip was a heart changing experience. Growing up during the Cold War, I often thought of the Russian people as cold-hearted and the enemy. The Yaroslavl church people are warm and very caring. They love the Lord and The Chapel in North Canton richly, and pray for us regularly.

They are also very much in need of our prayers. When praying for our sister church and its people, please remember the following:

  • Daily spiritual growth

  • Strength to live in a depressed nation

  • Finances for completion of the church building

  • The church leadership

  • A strong family life

In Christ,

Fred Merritt
